I think I'm going to able to move to a 9800pro soon.

Recently have been reading that the 256 mb version will be needed to get the best textures. If so, will prolly have to wait a little longer cuz there price is so much higher.

Used to be that 256 was considered overkill and not of much use. Has that changed in your opinion?

Thanks,

If you play games at very high resolutions and high levels of AA, then it can give you a definite boost. But we're talking at least 4x AA and 1200+ resolutions here.

If you like to overclock, you're probably better off getting the 128 meg version... the memory is probably more overclock-friendly.

[EDIT: And yes, newer games are coming out with larger and larger texture-sets. I hear that some upcoming games will be using 256meg texture sets, so to see that resolution you'd need a 256 meg card. Still, 128 megs is alot for textures, from what I understand even Doom3 won't use more than that. Remember also that 128 meg and 64 meg texture sets will also be included in games for a long time to come.]

Like cleeve said in that case.... But I think its not worth the extra money. At least here in portugal... But Cleeve and Hardware are much more wise than me! I've bought the 128 and I'm very satisfied with it.
