2D acceleration

Can anyone tell me if any of the newer ATI cards (9600 Pro and above) have and 2D acceleration?? And if so is it similar to just any other card (Nvidia) or is Matrox really the only cards that do 2D acceleration??

All the 3d cards made for the last couple years have had 2d acceleration.

As far as I know, the only 3d cards that didn't were the old Voodoos that required a 2d card operating in tandem.
