I currently own an Enlight case w/a 300W power supply and want to know if you custom computer building gurus think I have enough power to upgrade to a 9800Pro? I would also like to know if a 4x AGP port would have any effect on performance (although I've read 8x AGP is over kill). Here are my system specs:
Athlon 1900+ retail
Corsair XMS PC2100 512MB
Abit KR7A (via kt266a chipset)
2 * 7200 RPM HDD's (60 GB ATA-133 Maxtor, 40 GB ATA-100 IBM)
Creative Live 5.1 OEM Sound Card
Asus 52x24x12x CD-Burner
Floppy drive
Linksys 10/100 NIC
ATI Radeon 8500 64MB (want to replace with 9800pro
So to reiterate: Will my 300W power supply handle the addition of a 9800pro and will a 4x AGP port instead of a 8x AGP port affect performance. One last thing: Why are Sapphire cards so much cheaper than all the others? I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Are these cards reliable and just as fast as other brands? Thanks everyone for your input.
