Recent ForceWare comparison @ 3Dchips.

Comparing New 56.55(unreleased), current 53.03, and old 52.16 nV Forceware drivers. Trying the Google translator for a change of pace (and because it's easier to cut and paste the link I followed :evil: ).

Looks like slight drops in performance for default settings, but some measurable boosts for AA/AF performance.

  1. Also a more complete review at FiringSquad, with description and screenies of features;

    The mouse-over is interesting for beginners (but likely if you didn't know what it did/didn't you probably shouldn't have touched it in the first place :wink: ).

    Supposedly no major Bug Fixes.

    Some performance boosts, especially in UT2K3.

    Performance Drop in TombRaider.

    Strangely a performance gain for the FX5950U in Halo but a drop for the FX5700U.

  3. Yeah, I want a translator to some day translate my wedding vows.

    Do you incorporate this female to be your associate;
    for which to sex and serve your spousal unit;
    inside of nausea and soundness;
    for credit or debit;
    with life time warranty to always.

    :cool:

    As limited as it is at least we get the drift. I just wish we had more language options because even hackneyed English would be better for me than Hungarian or Czech.

  4. That's good they continued to improved AA/AF performance as with the Forceware 5303. I hope no sacrifice in IQ. AA/AF was my biggest gripe with high end NVidia cards. Made them basically non-competitors in my book. I mean Take the FX5950 Ultra. Who buys a $450+ video card and doesn't want to use AA/AF. Yet looking in Toms VGA Charts III, the Radeon 9700 NON-PRO beat out the FX5950 Ultra in ALL three games when using 4X/8X. That's why I have kinda rolleyed my eyes every time someone talks about an FX5950 with "glad its your money" thoughts circling in my head. Back before the 5303 drivers, it had the AA/AF performance of a midrange card for $450-$500.

    I know both companies are constantly working on their drivers, but it amazes me just how the FX Hardware needs so much constant driver improvements to get it up to par with the rival.

    So on my Ti4200 & Ti4600, what drivers would make the most sense as I hope to keep those machines up and running as spare gamers for as long as possible. Does anyone know if upgrading from 4403's to 5303's would help performance/ quality in Farcry?

  5. I would have liked to see IQ comparison between ForceWare versions and Catalyst too.
