Hi,
I got a new ati 9800 pro at compusa for 199$. I flashed bios with newest bios.I did a fresh install of xp pro. I got newest drivers for all cards. I even disabled almost everything on my game os drive. The raid card and aardvark were causing problems. But I still crash in command and conquer zero hour and warcraft 3. And my 3dmark03 score is only 5579 and my aquamark is 37,779. I think I should be getting a better score. I run a stock system. I've heard the catalyst 3.7 was better then the 3.8 or something like that. What driver would you use and do you have any suggestions on what else I can do to make system more stable. Nunchal
ps I have a removable system drive setup. One for video capture and editing, one for gaming and porn, and a third to be for audio multi tracking. Do I just have too much on my system? I don't want to remove pci cards everytime I play a game. But the crashes are driving me buggy.

I too have a 9800 pro with a 2700 AMD chip, my aquamark scores for a stock system are 39000.

I use the 3.9 drivers. Did you D/L and install your chipset drivers ( it looks like you have by those scores) But it looks like your PSU may be having a hard time of it with the extra load caused by the card.

I still use the 3.7 because it's compatable with all my programs.

Hi,
I have a antec true power 400 watt power supply, so I don't think its power. I also have 2 extra case fans in a large case, so I don't think its temp. But something is making two games crash. Either driver or video card setup, pci raid controller, games software, or too many pci slots used. Or so I think. I'm just trying how to fix it. Nunchal

Have you tried the 4.2's as yet. Have a look at the "fixed in this release" to see if they have patched the drivers for those games, also do the same for the 4.1's

You might want to check for hardware conflicts. I formatted my hardrive only to find the problem was with a sound and video card conflict that didnt register with windowsXP. It caused the sound to stutter and my 9800PRO to freeze and occasionally crash the system at random times. Since I rolled back my AC97 drivers to the previous version, the video and sound has run flawlessly. Goodluck!
