I was looking to upgrade my computer this month and dont have the funds I was hoping. I currently run a XP1700+ cpu with an MSI motherboard, GeForce 2 GTS and 512 ram at 2700(?) I was looking at get just a new video card and with the 9800 Pro getting close to the $200 range I was thinking of getting it. My questions are I'm not sure if my motherboard is a 4X or 8X AGP. If its a 4X will the 9800 Pro run or not, or just slower? Also I know I want the one with the Samsung memory. Is the retail versons of them have them all the time or how do I know? Also is Saphire as good or worse then Built by ATI? Last question is are the Bulk and OEM cards as good or are those the ones with the Infeno? chips?

All 9800 PROs will work at 4x AGP without a noticable loss in performance.

Sapphire actually makes Ati's cards. Sapphires are pretty good.

OEM and bulk cards are good as long as you check the memory and make sure it's the decent stuff.

on ATI's site you have to pay $15 for shipping, so it's really $214.95...for $211 (free shipping) you could get one from here...

For the extra $3.95 I would go with the retail ATI card and the trade in deal off the ATI web site. Of course you also have to factor in shipping the trade in card back to them.

Are you the friend who works on computers?

I'd void the warranty within a few days anyway...no use in me getting the better warranty that I can't use for more money on the same card.
