I don't know if this is the right forum, but it's the closest I could find. A friend of mine wants to create picture cd's that he can show on his dvd player. Is the premium version of Roxio a good program to do this or is there something better out there? Also, do you need a certain version of Dvd player to do this? I know you need a newer Dvd player to play mp3's but I don't know about picture cd's. Any and all information would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Roxio, although many cd burning programs of the last year or so implement this type of feature. They are also usually very easy to do, by following the on-screen wizards.
I use Nero as i think it's the best, but Roxio's is quite good too.

As for your DVD player, there is a site called DVDRHelp (it used to be VCDhelp or something similar), which will help you.

Some of the latest DVD players do support CD's that contain JPEG picture files. However, for those and other DVD players, a easy way to create picture CD's is to convert the stills to MPEG VCD format so that they can be played like normal VCD's. There are many software that do this job nicely. One of the software, which I'm using and found it pretty good, is Photo2VCD.
