Not sure if its graphics card related or not, but here goes.

My brother just recently upgraded his system to an Athlon XP 2400, 2x256 DDR400, R9800 Pro.

When playing games (Medal of Honor, UT2004), the system will minimize the game and kick him to the desktop.

I'm not sure if this is a driver issue, or what. Anyone have any ideas??

Spec:
Intel P4 2.4B
MSI 645E Max-U Mobo
512MB DDR333
R9600XT 128MB
SB Live 5.1
WD 60GB
Maxtor 120GB
LG DVD+-R/RW
WIN2K PRO SP4

R U running the latest chipset drivers, also check that U R using the latest ATI drivers, I assume that you are. It does sound almost like a ram problem to me...as opposed to something that could be video card related.

Have a look at your ram settings again and let us know.

it's probably a power problem. my friend tried out a Nv 5950 and it's the same thing b4 replacing the psu. If u want to make sure, unplug the cd/dvd-roms, use 1 stick of ram, and unplug non essential fans. Also the spec of HIS PC would be helpful

try this power calculator to get an idea of what wattage a new psu u should get
