hi,

someone on the e buyer comments page for this gfx card said that their asus a7n8x-e (not sure if they typo'd with the e bit) has a resistor nxt to the agp card that stops the card being installed cus the fan switch bit of the card has to go where this resistor is.

has anyone got this card in an asus a7n8x deluxe system (i emphasise the deluxe bit cus im not sure if the boards are different in respect this particualr resistor?

appreciate some help here cus ive really got my eyes on this card and was gonna purchase it on monday.

also will my enermax 350w psu be able to hand it (i have a standard system not overclocked with 1meg ram, 2700 xp chip and 120 gig hdd and a cd burner and seperate dvd writer.)

Can't help on the Mobo, but an Enermax 350w won't be a problem. It's a good PS.

cant help on that one either, have a Hercules 98000 on my A7n8x deluve, no probs in fitting...I would be wary of the 350w PSU I was running an antec truepower 350W with mine, worked ok for a few months but the strain took its toll! then BANG! my Antec 550w seems much more at ease. those cards drink alot of juice!

I have a system running an Enermax 350w power supply. 2 HDD in raid, and 2 optical drives, paired with a R9500 Pro. Ran this for 6 months plus. The Enermax 350w is up to the task. A Fortron 350w would be also. You don't need 550w power supply to run a R9800 Pro.

By the way Antec doesn't make a Truepower 350 Watt power supply. You either have the solution series "Smart" SL350w or a Truepower 330w.

bump.

so dies anyone know if this card is compatible with the a7n8x deluxe, or is there a resistor that gets in the way of the iceq fan switch.

does anyone have that mobo with that card here on these forums?

thx.

Obviously not, either that or they aren't talking.

There isnt a resistor that blocks it my mobo is built to the same spec as it but without some of the features the a7n8x-d has, since my board looks like it has dual channel ram when it actually dosnt, and the other thing about the powersupply i run myne on a chieftek 300W and it works fine but i dont have any pci cards in so thats probably y.

Uhh no... That card is the same PCB as the regular Radeon just the HSF got swapped with the VGA Silencer. Mine fits just fine on mine (look below).

Addiarmadar, why don't you be like everyone else and say 220mhz fsb, you [-peep-].

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?

yeah but the back of the switch for the fan on the iceq apparantly hits a resistor on the mobo.

just to clarify, im talking specifically bout the iceq, so do u have that or a regualr radeon 9800 pro? the fan is the problem u see. but i read it was the a7n8x-e and i have the d version.

be great if someone had that actual iceq card and my mobo.

I thought about it since most people look at things in system clock scale but that my fsb is not running at 220 but at 440 you [-peep-].

My appologies I thought they were the same thing from the reviews and what the OEM told me. Ill have to look into this one.

I have the d version and with stock ATI radeon with the VGA silencer. I did notice that there is a couple resistors just below where my fan switch is but they are too small to interfere.

I looked at the e version and I just cannot see that resistor getting in the way of that fan switch for it is the same size as the one on the d version.
