Spy Hunter Peter Gunn theme full blast

Did you ever figure out how to fix the full blast Peter Gunn music in
Spy Hunter? I have the same deal. On my upright SpyHunter, the pot
for the road sounds/machine guns works fine, but the other pot (for the
music) has no effect. I tested the 1K music pot and it is in normal
range (5 ohms to 950 ohms). I have read that replacing the CheapSqueak
Deluxe board doesnt help most of the time. Any other ideas on whats
going on? Please help.
