Hello

I have a home network with a XP Home Dell desktop and 2 XP Pro Dell laptops.
What I would like to do is have my desktop automatically download updates
for XP and Office and save the files to its hard drive. Then I would like my
laptops to check my desktop for updates instead of checking the MS on the
internet.

I would like to do this because I have noticed that I am performing the same
dowload 3 times when XP and Office updates are released. This means that
when MS releases a 4 meg file I end up downloading 12 meg. I have read that
this can be done but I can not find the settings in the Control Panel to do
it.

Please help me set this up.

Also Microsoft, please make this easier to configure with clear instructions
on how to set it up.

Thank you.

Edmund

Hi,

You would need something like SUS to do what you are asking, and it's not
really practical in a small home network:
