We have 2 laptops in our house, along with a bunch of desktop computers. The
networksetup uses a dlink wired router and I wanted to check if I could get
the MN-500 to provide wireless access to the internet through the dlink
router. My main concern is can the dhcp be disabled so it just works like a
network switch? I want it to provide wireless access but leave the dhcp and
port forwarding stuff to the dlink

You'd set your MN-500 to bridge mode.

Then plug a network cable from the dlink router to the WAN port of the
MN-500.

You'll then need to setup the wireless settings (WEP key, SSID) from the
MN-500.
