My wife's laptop runs at 800x600.

My home computer (a PoS Celeron) runs at 1024x786.

My work computer runs at 1152x864. But that's only because one of the programs that I work on was designed for that exact screen size. (You run it with a bigger screen and it's just fine, but with a smaller screen things get squished.)

my 19incher runs 1280x1024 @ 75hz. perfect for everything you do in windows.

Wouldn't that make the text REALLY
tiny

?

I hope you have good eyes!

I still use that resolution. My monitor goes all the way up to 1920x1200, but I can't read the dang screen that high unless I use a magnifying glass! Maybe a 19" monitor is too small?

Tbirdinside my A$$. Your always running around talking about someones crap hardware. You probably have a K62 and a 14" monitor. Who cares what resolution someones screen is at.

If you take a truth and follow it blindly, it will become a Falsehood and you a Fanatic.

What the hell is wrong with 1024x768?

That's really small- I mean your monitor. JK- but the screen size on your monitor is little.

I run 1024x768 at 120Hz on a 19" Trinitron. If I kick it up to 1600x1200 at 100Hz I can view two compete webpages at once. Problem is that the taskbar and clock are too damn small.

I do on my 19" and 20". Personally I think you're pretty stupid to even ask that kind of a question. I meet people all the time who are even running at 800x600, and all too often 640x480. Granted my resolution is as low as I'll go and I'm sometimes a bit higher, but you obviously haven't spent a lot of time on other people's computers.

1280x1024x85 here. I can go up to 1920x1440, but that's just waaaaayyyy too small.

Another computer wanted. Donations accepted. :^)

1600x1200 @ 72Hz on 21" at home.
1600x1200 on 19.5" LCD at work.

I now think 1280x1024 is too little for my needs...

I run 800x600 on my 19". Wow you guys that run higher than 1024x786, you must have good eyes.

A high-quality monitor running a fast refresh rate makes a huge difference. A decent video card doesn't hurt, either. :)

Did you mean to title this post 640x480? 1024x768 is probably the most common resolution used on a 19” and 800x600 for 17”. Anything higher then that give me a headache. Especially on the dam websites you can’t change the text size.

Thx & cya

I have a 13.5 viewable screen and run at 1280x1024, you are all crazy (well not all of you) any thing lower than 1024x768 is just not usable, and I would consider any one who runs a 19" monitor at lower than 1280x1024 very odd indeed in fact if I had a 19" monitor I would run it as hi as I could.

Reply to Anonymous

Yes, but you don't have a big monitor so what are you talking about? If I run at 1600x1200 I can fit all kinds of stuff on the screen, but I can't see the bar at the bottom and since I don't have a trinitron it isn't very nice on the eyes to have to struggle to read the 6 point text.

800X600 on a 17 inch.
My girlfriend won't let me go any higher than that, she will complain a lot if I go higher.

800 by 600 by 60 on 17" flat tube because it is hooked up to TV also. Monitor and card can both go much higher.

800 by 600 by >85 on 17" trinitron.
