USB mp3-stick detection problems

Hello,

I'm running XP Prof + SP2. I just purchased a Philips Key 013 mp3-stick and
cannot get my PC to work with it. It can't be a hardware problem, as the
stick is working with other XP-PCs as well as with 98 with no problems.

At my computer, the hardware seems to be detected (no problems to see in
Hardware Manager), it also appears in tray (safe disconnection or so), but I
cannot see it in WinExplorer nor disconnect it via tray icon. I've tried it
with and without producers drivers, installed all possible UBS drivers new -
nothing helps.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

USB Hub Power Management - disable : Start/run, type DEVMGMT.MSC , then rightclick each USB Hub device, Properties, uncheck the box
on the Power Management tab.

Thank you, I'll try it. One more stupid question: shall I do it after or
before I put the mp3 stick in the USB-Port?

Greetings,

You are probably fighting some small incompatibility between the stick driver, and winXP-SP2. Unfortunately, the only way to know
what works is to try it.
