resolution notice

I started getting an anoying resolution notice when I use a so- called DOS
based program in XP. The pinball game for instance. I open the program,
and start, and after a few seconds I get a resolution notice that tells me
I should set the resolution to 1280 * something.

I already have the resolution set to this, so I don't know why this notice
appears. And, I can't make the notice go away. There are two options, one
to cancel the notice, and the other to acknowledge it. There's a 1 and a 2
in little box's next to the choices but nothing I do seems to work.
Obviously I've tried pushing the 1 and 2 buttons, and the mouse won't go
into the box.

How can I make this notice stop?

The notice is coming from your monitor. I'm guessing you have a flat panel
LCD. Check the monitor setup booklet, it should tell you how to get into
the hardware setup on the monitor itself, somewhere there is an option to
disable this message - I have dual 19" NEC LCD's, and in the setup I have
this option, 1280x1024 is the preferred resolution, but when I view a mpeg,
wma, qts or other video in "full" screen mode, it used to complain and feed
back to windows about the resolution.

Aaahh. Thanks star fleet. Actually, the numbers that appear are on the
moniter itself.. there is a 1 and a 2 button. It's a Princeton. I was
thinking keyboard.
