Repair Install - 98SE

Jake_Barnes

Splendid
I have a dual boot system with 98SE on 1st partition and XP on the second (both fat32). My 98SE is becomming unstable and I need to either reinstall or repair install (if possible). I've read of repair intallations here but have never done one. I don't want to go thru the entire HDD "project" again - I just want to "firm up" 98SE. Can this be done ... (and the obvious) how?
Thanks

But Officer, I wasn't speeding - I was qualifying ...

Yes. The easiest way is simply to pop in the CD while windows is running, open the win98 directory, and run setup.exe

A faster way is to copy the win98 directory to your main drive and run setup from there. Then you no longer need the CD!

If you don't want to reinstall Win98,
try defragmenting that partition and remove unnecessary junks in your hard drive and registry.
