So I'm looking to get a new laptop and I'd like to spend $700-$800. I also want to get the xbox deal, and so far the 2 that I'm debating between are on the microsoft store. They both have similar specs except the CPU, GPU and display. 1. Dell Ispiron 15R-N5110 $699 i7 2.2Ghz Nvidia 525M 1366x768 http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/en_US/pd/productID.249120700/compare.true
2. HP Pavilion DV6-6C53NR $799 i5 2.5Ghz ATI 7690M XT 1920x1080 http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/pd//HP-Pavilion-dv6-6c53nr/productID.243730200?ClickID=akn5zk5zpptk5r99snyorn90yytkvazyyllr I mainly want the laptop for school work, and playing Diablo 3 while I'm away from home. My question is then... Is it worth $100 for the graphis card and full HD?

The extra $100 is well worth the higher resolution screen an much more powerful graphic card. The Radeon HD 7690M is almost as fast as nVidia GT 555m. Not powerful enough to play intensive games at 1920x1080 resolution though so you will need to lower it to 1600x900 or 1366x768 depending on how demanding the game is.

The 1920x1080 resolution screen makes it much better for general productivity tasks like doing homework or research because the larger desktop allows you to see more on the screen at one time. It's even large enough to have two browsers open side-by-side so you do not even need to go back and forth between tabs.

The Dell does have a quad core CPU, but the vast majority of games, like Diablo 3, only use two cores and the HP dual core i5 is clocked higher so it can give a little better performance in games that are CPU dependent, like Diablo 3.
