hi all, i bought a Geforce T1 4200 video card 1 1/2 years ago.last coupla weeks it started a "whurring sound"! i guess the fan maybe going out on it. i play Unreal Tournament quite a bit also. so i'm wondering is it gonna go out? if it does, can i put a an inside fan that fits in a pci slot to cool it off? or do you think the card will just burn up? anywho----just planning ahead.....thx,jw

Maybe it is time to upgrade your video card? If not, you can replace your dying card with the same one for $60 (check the link). If you really want to stick to your card look for a way to replace the bad fan on the card itself.

Slava, you idiot. Just the fan is dying, not the card. They are in no way related. You're like one of those people who never washes their car, and gets a new car when it gets dirty and banged up enough. [-peep-].

Get a Crysal orb for your video card dude, theyre like 10 bucks and better than the stock cooler.

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?

I think you should read what I wrote again and apologize, a$$hole. I did say that replacing the fan was an option... But considering what he's got it is not a bad idea to upgrade regardless -- a year and a half is not a bad run for a card. Do you upgrade only when your card fries??

WD40 probably won't offer a lasting solution -- it sorta dries out pretty fast. Now, cleaning IS a great idea!
