I've got a GT2k4 (green board) in a homebuilt cabinet. I'm looking for
a Fore! 2005 Extra upgrade kit to be used at home. I need the CD +
EEProms, I don't care so much about the marquee as it's to be used in a
home cabinet that already has a custom marquee. As cheap as possible.

Does anyone have a source, or a kit they want to sell?

Thanks.

Just an FYI, the 2005 upgrade doesn't include the Extra courses, those were
available as an upgrade to 2004. You can still buy that upgrade from IT and
it will work with 2005, but it's $200 and I doubt you'll be able to find it
any cheaper. I haven't seen a 2005 upgrade sell for any less than $400, so
you're looking at $600 to get your game where you want it. With GT Fores
dropping in value because of the GT Live releasing nationwide in a month and
operators selling off their Fore boards, it's probably cheaper for you to go
on Ebay and buy a complete board set that has been updated and then sell off
your '04 board to cover some of the difference.

Also, there's supposed to be a GT 2006 or 7 coming out in the fall, if you
have a tournament game you'll be able to play the 05 courses on league, so
you might want to think about waiting for that. That isn't going to be cheap
though.

It's a tough time to be a GT homeowner, IT seems to control the prices of
the upgrades so they never get really cheap, yet our GT Fore games are
getting ready to become obsolete. It makes spending a lot of money on
upgrades hard to justify.

Good luck,
Brandon

Well, the extra upgrade might be worth it. Then I could upgrade to
2005 for like $100 by selling the old board and using the $$ to buy a
2k5 board. More of a pain in the ass then I've hoped, but oh well.

(I've heard about hard drive images/copied eeproms for sale out there,
but have yet to actually find anything solid. going that route is
risky, however).
