Should I Buy This Toshiba Satellite?

It's on sale on Best Buy right now for $499.99

I will not be using this for gaming. Mostly programming and web designing. One issue with this laptop is that the screen has a strong glare so it might be tough on my eyes (I plan to use it for several hours a day).

Do you guys recommend this? If not, can you offer some alternatives in the same price range?

  1. For that price,it's hard to beat it.
However,if you need a 15" laptop, this Lenovo model offers comparable specs

That Lenovo looks pretty good as well. Which one do you think is better?
  3. Well, the Lenovo is slightly faster but has less RAM and HDD(which you can upgrade both later on)
  4. Guess what, I went to Best Buy yesterday and bought the Toshiba. Turned out to have a defective battery. Went back, exchanged for a new one, and Geek Squad said it was also defective. Just my luck I guess... Do you think I should wait a couple days and try to buy another Toshiba at a different Best Buy?
  5. So,do you have a laptop now ? I mean when the geek said it was defective, did you buy it ?
  6. No why would I buy a defective one. I asked for a refund.
  7. I see.
Well, overall I prefer Lenovo over Toshiba because of their build quality and the keyboard.
