geforce vs. radeon

In evaluating the Geforce4 and Radeon graphics cards for use on my relatively old Abit KT7A mb which supports AGP 2x/4x, I noticed these cards all say they support AGP 8x. Are these cards backwards compatible with AGP 2x/4x?

yes for 4x... not sure though about 2x - dont they use a different voltage?
