I am runng XP proffessional SP2.
For some reason the server service has started to fail to start.
No desktop icons or start menu appears.
I can press ctrl alt del to get to the task manager but cannot force the
service to start.
I have tried booting in sfae mode and xperience the same problem.
We are running Symantec Antivirus Corp Ed.

Hi ReachFast,

Have you checked the Event Log (System) for any Service failure
notifications? Type Eventvwr in Start/Run and inspect the entries.

How do I view the error messages registered in Event Log?:
