I believe it's true, i think i read it over at endian.net.

A question about your sig, i believe your ram's timing's a lie.

Well this is the generation after the 9000 series and X is the roman numeral for 10 so yeah I kinda thought it went without saying that it was 10.

scottchen,
Your question about his sig is actually a not a question, but rather it is a statement.

Yes, except...LMAO, the 7500 was a DX7 card, the 8500 was a DX8 card, the 9500 was a DX9 card, but the X800 certainly isn't a DX10 card! And yes, that's where ATI got it's naming system from, even if they did later cheat on the 9000, 9100, and 9200.

They used so much 9X00 variations, they could not find good numbers for the R4XX... They could have call it Radeon 9900... But would have not been cool enough! I like the "X" in X800.

How will the name R5XX, "Y800"?

no those timing are not lie .... i did run my computer with those timing for some time but now they are 4-4-4-2.5 for max stability.....because with 3-3-3-2 my comp had some strange problem in some games.

your Tras delay, the lowest it can go is like 4 at 133mhz, i know 5 is very much possible at 200mhz with corsair memory, but 3? That's BS.

Check my sig, d00d. maybe I'll have a go with 3, just to see.

They could go even techy-er with a name like XI-8 on the next one!

Best timings for me with your same ram is 2-2-2-5. How old is yours? Winbond chips no doubt. I have never heard of lower than 2-2-2-4.

It wouldn't be pronounced ten eight hundred. After all the 9800 isn't pronounced nine eight hundred, its ninty eight hundred. Which would make 10800 one hundred eight hundred. But that also sounds lame so X800 is cool since you prenounce it ex eight hundred.

I always call the 9800 the nine thousand eight hundred - I think the 98 hundred thing (which is actually more sensible) is an american thing.

No offense meant whatsoever, but Nine thousand eight hundred sounds hilarious to me. Where are you from? (edit: Wales, UK) Is that how everyone says it? I've never actually said any of the Radeon xxxx cards with the thousand in there. Early morning laugh for me. Thanks.

Ever tried 3.2 or 3.3 Vdimm?
 Nope, That's insane. 2.8v is the highest I've tried.

Maybe I should try it and see if I can run the 4 - 3dmark games before my Corsair smokes itself? ya, sure. Maybe not. While I'm at it, I can feed the air cooled mobile barton 2.6v's and raise my house temps a few degrees. lol
At least I'd have a real reason to upgrade, as well as kick my own butt (like Jim Carey) for days to come.

Actually, I live in Swansea (Wales), but am from London. For one horrible moment I thought you'd written Wales (England). That would have been my early afternoon laugh....just don't ever say it to the welsh, eh? :)
