The GF4 is cheaper than the Radeon but, does anyone know if its worth paying the extra? Also, are these cards compatible with a Gigabyte GA-7VA(kt400 chipset) motherboard?

If your considering the ti4600 over 9700pro to save a little more money, then you should just get the 9500Pro. Looking at THG's benchmarks, it performs to just about the same speeds as a ti4600 and should be from $50 to $75 cheaper than the average ti4600.

Captain Obvious say both are compatible with your Motherboard!

The Ti4600 is cheaper, but the R9700 will give you far superior performance AND DirectX 9 Capabilities!

I'd get the 9700 Pro, it's a generation ahead of the gf4s. The premium over the gf4 can be thought of as an investment towards the future. If you get the 9700 now you'll be less tempted to upgrade in the future.
