I recently had my printer stop working because of an issue the the print
spooler. So I uninstalled the printer and ran through the steps at the
following links:

http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm#LexmarkDriver
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Basically I ran cleanspl.exe to clear out the spooler and then ran a line of
code at the command prompt (sc config spooler depend= RPCSS) to make sure
that the print spooler is not dependent on itself to run.

Now I am trying a clean install of the software and I keep getting an error
from XP saying that 'lxbrmcro.dll on Lexmark is needed' and when I try an
install from the software that came with the printer I keeps telling me that
there is no printer attached. The print spooler is running but I cannot
reinstall my printer! HELP!

Windows has Alzheimers. Sometimes you have to tell it where to look even if
it has been looking there already. Tell it where 'lxbrmcro.dll is and you
should be all right.
