hi................when I am connected to the internet and have to leave the
computer for a short time, or even if I am doing other work not needing the
internet I find I lose the connection ........and it redials in
automatically.........is there a way i can stop this from happening?

Go to your Internet Options in the Control Panel or type this in the
Start>Run box:

inetcpl.cpl

then go to the "Connections" tab an select "Never dial a connection".
