The results don't really surprise me.

After reading the reviews, I got the impression that the 6800 is still a very raw product. Look at the 6800GT(anandtech review). It has only one connector and fits into one slot. Nvidia has a lot of improving to do.

ATI is the obvious winner now, but the future does not look nearly as grim for Nvidia as it did with the FX series. Escpecially if you add the technological superiority into the equation.

My prediction: Nvidia will eventually take the lead with its current design.

ATI won this won, but it's nice to see two very good cards out there. It'll be tough to really make fun of someone for owning a 6xxx card.

I still have this unsettling feeling that the Nvidia cards are a paper release though. The x800's are for sale today from what I understand.

Nvidia, IMO, wanted to spoil ATI's 'glory'. Kind of like Intel did with the P4EE. The 6800 made a very good impression when it 'came out', put Nvidia on everybodies mind, and the company in a favorable light.

Paper launches suck, but what can you do? And imagine having to wait 2-4 more weeks to find out about the 6800 levels of perf.

Won this won?

Is Auburn rubbing of his 'redness' on you...?
