A few Dance revolution questions

I am stuck with upgrading my Korean 3rd "B" mix to a 5th mix. I have
owned two of these and upgraded the first without much of a problem.
However, the second one is giving me lots of problems. I am sure this
one can be upgraded because it has the digital I/O pcb.

At first I tried upgrading it many times as the directions instructed
me to. I did the install cd, then changed the cd and ROM chip. Then I
pressed the reset button as it instructed me to. At this point, the
"boot chech" came on in the upper left corner of the screen. It stays
there and never goes into the game. All my other mixes go to the game
after that.

Second, I tried changing the cd player. Now it comes up with a 189
ERROR, unknown cabinet. Any idea on how to get this up and running?
