I'm looking to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 1545 hard drive to an SSD if possible, I don't know much about SSD's, but I'm hoping they are compatible with this laptop. My current hard drive is a 2.5" 5400rpm 120-150gb I don't remember what the space was :D. I'm looking to purchase an SSD on eBay...I edited the preferences to $120 max, I need atleast 120gb...I was hoping one of you fellas could tell me what one is compatible with my dell 1545.

If you want you can also look on newegg for SSDs, but please make it $130 max.

I want the best bang for the buck !

Thanks

Edit: Also Is this SSD I found on newegg compatible with the laptop ?

Hi 308beatz

My name is Arvind s and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

My understanding is that you are looking at upgrading your Inspiron1545 with Solid State hard drive.
Unfortunately this system support only sata HDD so recommend you to only go with SATA hard drives you can go up to 500 GB hard drive

Thanks & Regards

This is a very ignorant post !

The system can support SATA 2 or 3GB/s

I put in Sandisk extreme and it works great
trim and everything works great

good grief
