Can i delete my hard drive if i cant log on

ok so i got a laptop from a friend and he forgot the password is there any way to bypass it or delete all the data on it without a cd
plzzzzzzz help

Sorry, your best bet is to have your friend contact the maker (hopefully he registered it) and see if they can assist. Not to be rude but, Tom's neither assists nor gives advice on password/security issues.
