I need some help fairly quickly. I am working on someone's laptop at work. When she double-clicks an Excel file, it won't open. The error is
"Cannot find the file <file trying to open> (or one of its components). Make sure that the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."
When she openss Excel and then goes to File > Open and picks a file, it works fine. I tried both repairing Office and re-installing Excel. Any thoughts?
What's a signature? Oh, those words that show up after all my comments? I don't need one of those!
Yes, it was for every XLS file (I am not sure about other Excel file types, and other office files were fine), and only when you double-click the file.
Well, we got it figured out a few weeks ago, but I found my post, so I thought I would let you know what we did to fix it for future reference. We copied her profile to the D drive, then removed her profile. Then we logged back in as her to re-create her profile, then moved her data back. After that, it worked fine!
