Hello mag77;

Check out the Sony Vaio SA 41FX 13" notebook $850
Core i5 2450M 2.50GHz CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 13.3" 1600x900 LCD w/ Radeon HD 6630M graphics.

Without a 1600x900 LCD screen but a bit more CPU/GPU power and a bit lower price:
Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 14" Ivy Bridge Core i7 Gaming Laptop $800
Core i7-3610QM 2.3Ghz CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 14" 1366x768 LCD w/ GT 640M LE graphics card.

You can also get a Sony Vaio T (ultrabook), it's not as capable for 3d games as what WR2 linked you, but will be more than enough for simple PC games and web games.

If you do play 3d games (Sims3, Skyrim, Call of Duty, etc), then this laptop wouldn't work very well.

Either way, if you buy a Sony direct from Sony (you should be able to get a similar price to newegg) you can get a free Playstation3 using a promo code.

edit: Some other manufacturers have a similar deal going for xbox360s, obviously Sony isn't as interested in moving Xboxes :) .
