Tech: Tron questions

i have 2 empty Tron cabs with just power block/iso, harness, and sound amp
board(i believe)! one cab already has an old switcher in it and don't know
if i need power pcb also to work!

i already have extra working boardsets!

my questions are:

1. i want to use switchers in these....is this possible without the
left side power pcb?

2. if it does need power pcb, what does it actually need from
it(voltages?)?

3. what good does www.wizzesworkshop.com pcb do for the game and has
anyone tried it(Derek said he had tried this and has humming still)? do i
have to have one of these to put a switcher in? it looks like just higher
5v and 12v lines which should be adjustable on a switcher i would think!
any thoughts/experiments out there?
