If this has been posted before I am sorry but I could not find it. Windows
will not load driver files for my lacie 80gb external hard drive or digital
camera. After I plug them into my front usb ports I get the bubble stating
found new hardware it gives the name of the device then says usb mass storage
device. Then it says there was a problem installing hardware data invalid. It
worked just last week but this weekend I had to reformat the hard drive. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try a Repair, or "Upgrade" setup.
If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
