Hiya,

I recently got a copy of Sonar 7 and am trying to get playback to work. I can play back midi files, but when it comes to playing back actual audio, it's saying that the current audio drivers do not support the current audio format or are in use with another application. I can't see that there will be anything else using the drivers so I'm guessing it's the other problem. It lists the drivers it associates with my soundcard (all 8 of them):

HD Audio HDMI out [Wave RT]
HD Audio digital out [Wave RT]
HD Audio rear output [Wave RT] 1/2
HD Audio rear output [Wave RT] 3/4
HD Audio rear output [Wave RT] 5/6
HD Audio rear output [Wave RT] 7/8
HD Audio rear input [Wave RT]

I'm just using my onboard soundcard (VIA High Definition Audio) which has no problem with any other music software like Traktor. Is the problem with my soundcard or is there some compatibility issue with Windows 7 and Sonar 7?

The best resource to verify compatibility is available at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center located at the following link: http://bit.ly/1gW6Ns and can be used for both hardware and software concerns.
