ok, i recently posted about my missing ntldr file. managed to fix that but
now i have a new problem - nothing happens. I start the computer and it goes
through the Intel Desktop Boards startup screen. i get a flashing cursor and
thats it. so i ran the recovery console, scanned for the windows
installation and it showed up. also, the ntldr and ntdetect.com files are
there so what's up? thanks

Run a Repair, or 'upgrade' setup.
If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
