Screen goes black after logging into windows (7)

Hello,

I have black screen after I log into windows. Only the cursor is showing...I can log in no problem in safe mode all day. I did a restore and it worked but when I shut down the laptop and start it up again, it goes back to the black screen. Please help!!!!!!

Have you checked to make sure that your graphics card is indeed compatible with Windows 7?

Can you boot into safe mode and see your desktop? (Press F8 on start up)

I have the same issue on my Asus EEE minilaptop. I can boot it into safe mode and see my desktop. What do you think is the problem?
