I have an xp pro machine running most updates except for upgrade pack 2.
This machine is about 8 months old running a legal copy of windows xp pro. I
have checked for viruses and adware very clean machine. The problem started
about 2 months ago. Every time the machine is rebooted you have to re
activate windows.
Any help or information would be appreciated

Do a 'repair' or 'upgrade' setup.
If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
