Insanely Crappy X800 pro scores.

SIGH.

Okay, I just got 5544 3d marks in 3Dmark03 with a ATI retail x800 pro, 2.6C @ 3.0 P4, 1024 pc3200, asus p4s800 catalyst 4.5, rage 3d 3.9c running the x800 @ 531 mhz / 510 mhz.

WHY ARE MY SCORES SO LOW?

My radeon 9800 pro had higher. This is also a fresh install of windows becuase I just reformatted. Does ANYONE have any ideas? When I overclocked my 9800 pro, it made a huge difference in score. 1) are there any other ways to overclock IF rage 3d isn't good for x800s 2) I've heard some people say stuff about ATI control panel having an overclocking utility... I don't see it.

--Oh-- I was running with the ati control panel with 4x AA and 4x AF, vert sync=off, trueform=off. Is there any way that the ati control panel can conflict with rage 3d options? Or does the Rage3d Tweak automatically adjust itself to the ATI control panel?

Wusy--Just because you are an 'honorable' member of the forums doesn't give you the right to act like other people are 1) dumb 2) give them false advice. If you look at what i said, I said i REFORMATED and then did a fresh install. Obviously that means that I started from scratch.

do you guys use rage 3d 3.9c to overclock your card, and if so, what speeds are you using? I'm using somewhere around 532 core and 510 memory. I heard somewhere if you crank it too high, the voltage or something can be too low, and you can suffer from that (I don't know anything about voltage). Just something I might have heard.

Overclock your CPU a little further, are you sure u've installed SiS AGP drivers? Voltages only affects stability, not performance.

It's a very bad motherboard, Asus totally ruined the SiS chipset with that mobo.

hmm...that sucks.. right now, i have to overclock my whole FSB to get my proc to clock that high. meaning, that my memory is actually running at 166 instead of 200 (ddr-400), so its somewhere near like 380-390 mhz, while the cpu is cranked 400 mhz. I do have the latest AGP drivers for the motherboard, and Im going to do a redo on the 3dmark while turning down the quality of textures from highest to second highest, and putting the filterings on application control. I also clocked it down to about 520 and 500, I will post the score back asap. Itll be up in 10-15 minutes.

okay, so I just ran 3Dmark03 with 519 core, 499 memory, and application preference filtering and I got 9291 marks. Uhh... So I guess over-riding the filtering isn't the best. (?) Oh well. Still, If anyone has any other performance tips they can give me....Oh, and whats wrong with this agp slot on the p4s800? One thing I do notice is that the Fast write is unable to switch to Enabled on the ATI control panel, even though it is Enabled in my bios. Weird... how much difference does this make? Don't just be like 'your motherboard is shitty', see if you can tell me why it is shitty.

I currently have 2x512 pc3200 kingmax, the motherboard doesn't support dual channel memory
-> how big of a difference would that make?
I am also thinking about getting an audigy. If I'm not mistaken, they have their own processors, so they dont have to send information for the cpu to generate the sound, therefore boosting the performance [higher fps] (..right?). Would that have a decently beneficial difference besides sound quality?

ok all you guys telling him to overclock higher, please just stfu kthnx. his system should be getting higher than 5500 pionts, and it turned out to be the filtering



run 3dmark03 without ANY filtering OR anti aliasing. no one runs it with those effects on, if they still want to be competitive with other peoples scores
