trying to use mn-500 router in Spain

I connect the router to the modem, and the computer seems to detect the
internet (the icon with two monitors shows a connection and yahoo
messenger tries to pop up with a smiley face), but in the end I cannot
connect to the internet on the host computer. Is this because of
different formats and parameters between Spanish broadband and the
American mn-500, or can this problem be resolved? Thanks in
advance--before I have to go out and plunk down 100 euros or so for a
new router.

You're basically on your own, Paul. Microsoft's Broadband Networking
routers are designed and licensed only for use in North America. You
probably have different frequencies, etc., in Spain, so the MN-500 is not
compatible there.

Chris. But I realized also that I am missing the installation disk for
the mn-500. Maybe you can help me locate the installation software for
the mn-500 on line? :) thanks of your help. Paul

What connection type does your broadband provider use?

PPPoE, DHCP or static ips.

If you use PPTP or something else, you are out of luck (the configuration
software, which is essentially useless, won't help you either way)

Jason and Chris, I downloaded the installation software, installed it
and it's working beautifully now. So for all of you who may have
sought this archived thread: the mn-500 works in Europe, or at least in
Spain.

If you got it working with the configuration software, you could have got it
working without the configuration software.
