I know Tom gave the 9600xt a best of tom's 2004 award and was wandering if the 9800xt is just as good or not even better then the 9600xt. I;m not looking to overclocking in this card becuase i know it doesnlt have the feature. what is the best 9800xt card out there for ati chipset? Someone please help???

No, i was looking at the 9800xt chipset. The card i had my eye on is the Asus 9800 XT/TVD. Becuase on Tom's website he gave an award for it. And i was justing how good the card was. I;m still interesting in the 9800 pro becuse ati has a sale on now for them.

if ur gonna get 9800XT, get a X800 instead, its at the same price anyways, 9800pro is a different story. For ATi cards, the different manufacturer = diffrent speed for ram (becuase most of them dont have any bundle anyways) and heatsink quality, if the brand is extreme cheaper than others, expect crappy ram.

Ok, thanks. I did some more checking on that. And your right, the 9800 pro is the better card. Becuase of the ddr2. Like the xt version just h as the normal ddr ram. Thats wierd.. But if the 9800 pro is the best card to get then i;ll stick with that one..
Edited by greywolf55 on 06/06/04 09:36 AM.
