I know this is the wrong message board, but I don't know where else to turn. I've looked for a solution to my problem elsewhere, but got no where.

Somehow I now have some "NT search" thing installed in my internet explorer (for sure my bro downloaded something) that is causing problems with my browser.
Here are the syptoms:
1) random words are changed into links to search pages for "nt search", for example: on Tom's welcome message on the left, the word "Hardware" has a link to the website http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=Hardware&v=56
2) Sometimes, randomly, pages do not load properly and I get an error message (I forget what it is, I'll post a message when I get the message again) but it usually works after I hit the refresh button

I went to ntsearch.com and read their disclaimer, and they have a link to an unistall program for it, but I don't trust the company at all and will not download anything from that site until I know exactly what I'm downloading.

I appreciate all responses and recommendations and apologize again for posting this in the graphics forum.

I'm interested in getting rid of this problem 100% and I am not prepared at this point to use another browser or reformat my harddrive over this problem.

Thanks again

P.S. This is so annoying, I'm looking at the preview to my message and it has those stupid links in it. I NEED TO GET RID OF THIS!!!

It seems to go away when ending the process "sp.exe"
I'm gonna go try to find the root of this problem
Edited by splenda20 on 06/10/04 10:45 PM.

Seriously man, youve got yourself a nice bit of spyware there. Go to http:// www.lavasoft.de and download and run adaware.
