every time my screen save comes on my computer either freezes on a blank
screen or freezes in 1 motion of the screen saver. Inorder to get back to my
desktop, I have to hit Crtl-Alt-Delt and the task manager tells me that the
screen saver is not responding. I've tried changing screen savers, I've
scanned my pc using McAfee Security and scanned and removed spam using
Microsoft Antispyware. Nothing is working. Please help!

Is this screen saver one of those built-in with Windows XP? or did you get it from an outside source?
Anyhow, turn OFF the screen saver. Screen savers are really, really not needed. They were there in the old dinosaur ages for the old monitors of 10 + years ago.

the person want a screen saver , then what ? I understand the purpose for a
screen saver for monitor 10 + years ago but , I like using screen saver ...

If you use it and it works, that's fine. Screen savers first came out for the purpose of preventing "burn-in" of characters on the screen.
Kindly file this away in your notes: If you do an operating system upgrade, or o.s.install, or a service pack, it is highly advised to turn off screensaver.

Otherwise, you run the risk of getting mucked up during those procedures.
