Tip for finding drivers

Here's a little tip which with a bit of luck, might make it to Sticky status and save me writing it again.

Go into Device Manager and click up the device's Properties then click on the Details tab.

Take a note of the four characters you see after VEN (for Vendor) and also after DEV (for Device) and input them in the relevant boxes at http://www.pcidatabase.com then follow the information to the relevant site for the drivers.

Sticky or no, don't hold your breath for someone to read it first, they don't even Google simple queries for HP & Canon drivers where most can be easily found.
Problem is some have no idea how to start looking, I'm sure that it doesn't occur to them to look on the makers website.
