Sudhain looks @ AGP speeds, guesses on PCI_EX

The article is supposed to address whether or not PCI-EX makes much sense, but doesn't actually look at PCI-EX cards, just does an investigation of AGP speeds.

Interesting to note that their is some differences between 4X and 8X (especially in SPEC's ViewPerf), as small as they are in games they do trend upwards for the most part. The VP numbers are dramatic really IMO.

Anywhoo, worth a read, but I wouldn't take the conclusion as much more than a guess. It's likely that that guess is correct, and it appears to be an edjucated guess, but really, what's the point it talkibg about PCI-EX's worth before we even see them perform for real?

Up to a certain point it is correct. Current generation of applications have no need for its abilites, since pci-e is not just a one ticket like AGP is there maybe things in the future that will require it.

Ok, here goes;

Once upon a time there was a little boy name, uh let's just say scott, not you, another scott, and he too was itinerant, err.. I mean iliti.., ellight..., illat.., ah he was just dumb.
Anywhoo, back to the story, this kid had a job in a secret tech supplier company. In this company he had access to valuable information, but since he was elleate... ummm, since he couldn't read he sold me a GodDamn T10 Ethernet PCMCIA card instead of a T10/100! Faqin, Idiot! Wait, that wasn't today's story that's was last weekend's.

Ok, today's story involves another boy, very much like the boy you just heard about. This boy decide to write a little story himself. He calls his story an 'article', in this 'article' he tells a beatufiul ballad of this tribe called the AGP, but after telling this long pastich of AGP adventures he concludes his story, or 'article' with an ending about the PCI-EX clan. I mean WTF?!?

Anywhoo, I'm not recommending it to the book of the month club!

:lol:
