The article is supposed to address whether or not PCI-EX makes much sense, but doesn't actually look at PCI-EX cards, just does an investigation of AGP speeds.

Interesting to note that their is some differences between 4X and 8X (especially in SPEC's ViewPerf), as small as they are in games they do trend upwards for the most part. The VP numbers are dramatic really IMO.
Anywhoo, worth a read, but I wouldn't take the conclusion as much more than a guess. It's likely that that guess is correct, and it appears to be an edjucated guess, but really, what's the point it talkibg about PCI-EX's worth before we even see them perform for real?
