Hmmm, looks like X600XT will be a let down. Barely beats the 9600XT... not R9800 performance at all.

ABIT IS7, P4 2.6C, 512MB Corsair TwinX PC3200LL, Radeon 9800 Pro, Santa Cruz, TruePower 430watt

Now this is a better look (although still using DDR2 of course) at the differences.

Well the X800XT at first was outperforming at higher res in many cases which would be expected, but then in things like Lock-on, FarCry and UT2K4 w/ AA you didn't see those expected big gains. Sure it may have become closer, but it didn't pull ahead, although it did pul even from being down. I just wonder if for UT2K4 it would've shown that way without the AA, but even that's not a given. I also wonder what higher res like 19x14 would've done once you really stress resources.

Alot of info over the next little while.

I still haven't seen everyone's posts yet, but this morning I was reading one that had the X300 up against the new Intel integrated, and it wasn't impressive. I think the FX5200/MX4000-5100 and X300 lines may be dead. PS2.0 (VS in software by host) may kill the very bottom of the barrel for ATI and nV, and others of course. The new "Intel Extreme 3" (not called that supposedly) is good enough to get rid of the laughable section. Anything in the low end with SE in it's name will likely go bye-bye.

Should be interesting over the next few days.

EDIT: <A HREF="http://www.sudhian.com/showdocs.cfm?aid=555&pid=2078" target="_new">Here's the X300 in the mix that Sudhain reviewed</A>, don't know if it's and SE or not.

what I don't get it the pci-e boards are using better ram and should be a better cpu. So why are the benchs flip flopping. Would execpt the pci-e versions to be on top every single time.

True you are problably right if the pci-e tests beds are strested they probably would win out.

Interesting, in all the ogl games that theory holds true but in Dx games it doesn't (well with the tested resolutions at least)

Looks like toms did thier own review a very in depth one too.
