Hello!!, can some expert help me??
Just wanna know if a QuadroFX500 is capable to play the latest games with same features as an GeforceFX card or 6800?
I saw the cuadro about $300 range. It says is Ogl andn DX compatibility but dont know if its in all features and Quadro is 128-bit and 128 ram.
I use VIZ (max LT) but also im a gamer.

the quadros are the same as the regular ultra line from nV, other then driver's support which is better on the quadro's. Wouldn't suggest the extra bucks on a quadro unless your a developer or graphics artist.

3d labs are good but arn't they still kinda of expensive, also thier Dx support ain't the greatest.

dude, he asked about about a quadro. Furthermore, the Quadro line generally beats the Firegl in pro apps.
That said, a real quadro can be overkill in many situations, mod is prolly the way the to go.

Yes I am, I work by my own on Atchitectonic Visualization on VIZ and Vray and sometimes have to do some complex urban projects.
i was planned to get an 6800NU ($300)(remember the other post?)but i have found FX500 at $230 and never though that kind of cards were so accsesible, so, do you recomend me to still get the 6800 or move to the Quadro
tks...

I gotta feeling the FX500 is a lot slower gpu and ram than the FX5800NU, so it'll end up being a lot slower.

Keep in mind, the Quadro FX 500 is the lowest end Quadro FX card that nVidia puts out. I'm currently on a Quadro4 750xgl, and starting to be unhappy with it, wishing I had a Quadro 4000 (drool), but the Quadro4 750 still costs $350 to buy new.

I don't have actual figures, but judging from the marketing position nVidia puts the Quadro FX 500 in, it's pretty much the "geforce MX" of the Quadro line. I definitely wouldn't plan to play modern games on it... I may have seen a benchmark once that put its performance below my Quadro 4 750 but I could be wrong, and that card really can't play games past UT2004, and that's only with lots of quality turned off.

Since I'm writing this anyway, and since I'm looking at the same type of information, does anybody know which "geforce" cards the Quadro FX 4000 and Quadro FX 3000 are roughly equivalent to? Is it like this?
Quadro FX 4000 ~= Geforce 6800 Ultra (?)
Quadro FX 3000 ~= Geforce FX 5900 Ultra (?)

Because I have an opportunity to work an upgrade from two systems (one gamer one pro grafix) to one system, upgrading from the quadro4 750 to a quadro FX 4000, for a grand total of $350, and if the Quadro can play games like a 6800 Ultra, I'm going to do it.

Sorry to have offended you. I found it while searching for info on Quadro performance, and it didn't seem that some things had been adequately answered / addressed for the guy.

in that case, I replied because it was apparently the only topic on the forum even remotely relevant to the info I am looking for, and didn't notice it was old, and am not in the mood to have to be defensive when posting (hopefully) helpful information.

And, you can take it or leave it, I really don't care.

dude, <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=419780#419780" target="_new">restraint</A> is not your style. You think I would not have noticed this by now?

Didn't seem so much like an attempt to be helpful as to share your personal story about your card and your own upgrade.

A new thread would've been much better for that IMO, especially since your content didn't really add to anything to the original thread.

How long did you think he'd be loking for a new card? I mean this isn't Eden we're talking about here!
