NEC MultiSync FP950

I'm considering NEC MultiSync FP950. From the bare specs, it seems to compare favorably to many other 19" flat monitors. When compared to Mitsubishi 900u, it has a higher refresh rate: 136 Hz at 1024x768 (versus 900u's 117 Hz) and 102 Hz at 1280x1024 (versus 900u's 88 Hz).

But there is more to a monitor than refresh rates. I wonder if FP950 is a good choice. Speak now, or forever hold your silence. :)

Thanks. But I was talking about NEC FP950, not FE950+. The FP series is better than the FE and FE+ series. For example, FP950 has much higher refresh rates at the same resolutions than Samsung.

Besides, I found a place where FP950 could be had for $325 ($295 after $30 rebate).

The FE950+ is an excenllent monitor, so I can only assume that FP would be even better. Where can you get the FP for that price?

Here is the link for the monitor (ignore the image, it's for AccuSync 95F, but the monitor is actually MultiSync FP950):

Here is the link for the rebate (it expires on June 30):

Could you let me know how the NEC FP950 turns out, if you get it? Check out my recent post about the NEC FP955 19". I had some problems with it, and am going to return it unfortunately. I really did like it, because it had good text and color, but I can't stand that vertical bar problem it has. Possibly because of not enough bandwidth.

Got it. Good monitor, I'm not complaining. I've got none of the problems you're describing. But keep in mind that some manufacturing work is done by hand. Therefore, it is natural to expect strong variations between the individual monitors of the same brand.
