Anyone know of any easily configurable ftp clients for linux distro's out there? I wanted some opinions before I shopped around. Currently I am running Glftpd and I like the configurability of it but I would like to try something different...ya know...ya get restless with one type of distro and have to install another...same thing for the ftp client. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a couple things installed to reach my linux box...I can use www.ssh.com the non-commercial one, I have putty, SmartFTP and WS-FTP Pro (I think this one is a purchase).

You might take a look at this
<A HREF="http://www.pureftpd.org" target="_new">http://www.pureftpd.org</A>
It shipped with Suse 8.2

I liked what I saw there...it seems like a configurable client. Uses quite a bit of gui...I'm not used to that. I thought about trying vsftpd as redhat uses it on their site and it sounds like it is very secure and very stable especially under large loads. Dunno though..Still looking.

I suppose you know about
wuftp<A HREF="http://www.wu-ftpd.org" target="_new">http://www.wu-ftpd.org</A>
and
proftp<A HREF="http://proftpd.linux.co.uk" target="_new">http://proftpd.linux.co.uk</A>

There were on the Suse 7.3 distribution but not
the 8.2 (hmmm, I wonder why?)
