Ive installed my new Leadtek a400 6800 and am having nothing but grief with it.

When i play most games ( Suffering, Gun metal, Big mutha truckers, occasionally on SWgalaxies ) I get lock ups on the main game title screens and occasionally the intro animation screens.
The problems arise like this.... once the titles/animations have loaded the screen freezes and the sound freezes with it. Some times there are red green and blue artifacts when this happens, some times not. Soemtimes it unfreezes and waits a few seconds before freezing again. The freezes always turn out to be terminal.

It runs some games perfectly. Such as Ground control 2 and Splinter cell pandora tomorrow. But only iof I keep the AA below 4x. I get major tearing and artifacts with 4x >

My old 4600 ti works perfectly well with these games.
Ive tried all availiable drivers and currently use the 61.71's.
Heat isnt an issue ( CPU 60, Mobo 35, GPU 45, ambient 30 )
My setup is as follows :

asus a7v8x-x mobo
athlon xp 2800+ @ 2.25ghz.
3x 256 sticks of pc2700 ram
Soundblaster live 1024 player.
geforce 6800.
Win XP

The next list are the things ive tried to resolve this issue.

New card ( returend to vendor, got a sparkling new one )
Re-seat card.
run with 1x 256mb stick, check all others individually and in differing pairs.
Drivers.
AA and Aniso ( on, off, max settings )
Refresh rates
all versions of DX from 8.1 >
Removing all non essential hardware a bit at a time.
checnging every setting in Bios
4x, 8x, fast writes, side band addresing
Agp performance control,

I think the only thing I havent checked is flashing my Mobo's bios and changing memory timings. I dont know enough about that yet to try.

If anyone else has had similar problems, Id LOVE to hear about it and maybe we can work out whats causing these problems in a brand new card.

P.S... apologise for the repost. forgot I had posted a similar thread a few days ago when i had the first card and the same problems.

this sounds like a hardwaer problem to me. artifacts when stressing the GPU, and happens with more than oen driver revision. have you checked for heat btw? try takign the side off your case and blowing a fan in

yes. side off, temps fine.

Ive heard from another forum that the leadtek cards seem to be having problems. looks like it could be the whole shipment that was borked

Reply to phantom1979

it could be there was a report of that, call up leadtek and see what they say. Don't think they should have any issues of replacing it.

found out that I can use Vsync always on as a work around to get the games running. although im not too pleased about it.

Im just waiting for Leadtek to make an announcement on these cards as they are obviously faulty and need some support.
